Hey there, friend!
Motherhood is a journey unlike any other. Some days, it feels like you’re knocking it out of the park, and other days, you’re in the trenches, just trying to make it through to bedtime. In every season—whether full of joy, challenge, or a mix of both—I’ve found comfort and strength in God’s Word.
As I share this post, I want to share my heart for this blog. My ultimate goal is to glorify the Lord in everything I do. Becoming a mom has deepened my relationship with Jesus in ways I never imagined, and I’m continually reminded of His goodness and grace. He is a good, good Father, and it is my prayer that this space will reflect His glory.
While I plan to share bits and pieces of my life, home, work, and inspiration, I hope this blog becomes a place that not only uplifts and inspires, but also points back to Him.
Today, I want to share five Bible verses that have spoken deeply to my heart, especially during times when I’ve needed them most. These verses remind me of God’s promises, His faithfulness, and the peace He offers when we lean into Him.
1. When You Feel Overwhelmed
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
—1 Peter 5:7
This verse holds such a special place in my heart. During nursing school, I went through some of the most challenging seasons of my life—late nights studying, countless breakdowns, and moments when I truly felt like giving up.
One day, my husband put this verse on my letterboard: Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. It became my anchor, and I never changed that letterboard again. I clung tightly to these words, reminding myself that I didn’t have to carry the weight of my stress alone.
Now, as a mom, this verse continues to remind me that no matter how heavy the load feels, I can hand my worries over to the One who cares so deeply for me, as it’s not my job to worry. I just started a bible study recently called ‘Relaxed’ that is all about relaxing and letting God take the reigns—so fitting for this season of life when it feels like we’re carrying the weight of it all. (Hint: We’re not supposed to, friends! God wants us to be dependent on Him, and its so freeing when you truly surrender!)
2. When You’re Unsure of Your Path
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
—Proverbs 16:3
This verse is one I live by—it’s one of my absolute favorites. Whether I’m making big life decisions or navigating the everyday chaos of motherhood, these words remind me to dedicate my work, my dreams, and my efforts to God.
Sometimes we forget just how powerful our God is. We have the Holy Spirit living within us—the same power that raised Jesus from the dead resides in us! What a gift, right?! It took me until And yet, it’s a gift I often take for granted. I don’t always realize the magnitude of what it means to have His presence and power with me every single day.
When we commit our plans to Him, we don’t have to rely on our own limited understanding. Lean into Jesus—He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and He loves us more than we can fathom. Whatever you’re facing, friend, remember: He’s got this, and He’s got you.
3. When You Need Strength
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
—Matthew 7:7
This verse became so meaningful to me after the birth of my daughter, Gretta. Her birth story is one for the books. I’ll share in more detail another time, but this verse taught me the power of asking God for very specific things in faith. He will deliver.
When we come to Him with open hearts and unwavering trust, He delivers in ways that often exceed our expectations, even if it isn’t exactly how we pictured it. Whatever you’re facing, friend, don’t hesitate to ask—He’s ready to meet you where you are.
4. When You Need Guidance
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
—Romans 8:5-6
Woofta, what a wakeup call, right? I came across this verse in a bible study I did last year & it is such a good reminder that true fulfillment comes from living according to God’s Word. When our thoughts and actions align with His Spirit, we find peace and purpose that far surpasses anything the world can offer.
Whenever I feel distracted by worldly desires, this verse brings me back to what truly matters: walking in step with His plan for my life. That is where true joy & peace can be found.
5. When You Need Peace
“The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.”
—Psalm 29:11
Life as a mom can be chaotic, but this verse reminds me that peace isn’t found in my circumstances—it’s found in Him. When I feel overwhelmed, I know I can turn to God for the strength and peace my heart longs for.
A Prayer for You
I want to leave you with a prayer:
Heavenly Father, I lift up every mom reading this today. You see her joys, her struggles, and her heart. Remind her of Your promises and surround her with Your peace. Give her strength in moments of weakness, wisdom in times of uncertainty, and joy in all the little moments that matter most. Thank You for walking with us through every season. Amen.
Let’s Encourage Each Other
I hope these verses bring as much comfort and encouragement to you as they have to me. Which one resonates with you most right now? Or is there a verse that’s been an anchor in your life? Share it in the comments—I’d love to hear from you.
You’re doing amazing, friend. Keep leaning into His strength—you’ve got this.
Warmly,
Lauren
